Our long-standing partnership with Shaw Trust has helped young people in Bexley and beyond gain practical experience, develop confidence and take meaningful steps towards careers in construction.
Shaw Trust supports young people who are not in employment, education or training, including young people with disabilities, Education, Health and Care Plans, Autism or ADHD, as well as those affected by youth offending or exploitation.
Real workplace experience
Capital Hoist has worked with Shaw Trust to provide a flexible range of opportunities shaped around the individual:
- Construction-industry taster sessions and trial periods
- Termly work placements in a supportive workplace
- Mock interviews and practical employability preparation
- Visits to Shaw Trust hubs and one-to-one mentoring
- Employment opportunities for young people ready to progress
These activities give participants more than a view of the industry. They provide real expectations, trusted support and an opportunity to build skills within a working construction-hoist business.
“Capital Hoist are inclusive, diverse and adaptive — and are a trusted partner and an inspiring organisation to work with.”
